Christmas gifts delivered to kids in Puerto Rico
What an amazing week we had in Puerto Rico! It was a week filled with a heart of giving to those in need, a week of realizing that no matter how big my problems are there is someone facing harder challenges and greater difficulties than I may ever face in my entire life time. Seeing the faces of kids that are happy and smiling more than they have smiled in a long time, was worth more than anything else.
I remember being a kid, and I can relate to them playing with the toys and riding the bicycles we took to them. I am glad to have been part of the group of San Antonio Disabled American Veterans that delivered over 50 bicycles and toys to the kids of Puerto Rico in combination with the Puerto Rico organization called A Gift of Love, in spanish Regalo de Amor. I received so much from this trip that it feels like I was the one in need, the positive and warm hearted people of Puerto Rico made a great impact on me and also made me realize that is much better to give than it is to receive and that there is always someone facing greater difficulties than I am.
Here is a short video of what took place this past week in Puerto Rico, I hope you enjoy it!
